Expect the Unexpected

Throughout my time from June 10th onwards I had weekly checkups with the OB Doctors being such a big hospital and a big country there was no 'one' specific Doctor to attend a patient each visit was a different Doctor but they all study the patients case before attending. Weeks of doing stress tests, ultrasound and blood tests. CK expectancy date was July 4th 2015, yes he was to be a 4th of July baby. However, due to the fact that he was a CDH baby his delivery date had to be scheduled so as to have the entire pediatric team, OB Doctor, gynecologist and every other Doctor necessary for his arrival. Holtz Children Hospital is a properly equipped and prepared hospital, not only for CDH babies but for children with rare birth defects in general.
On my check up for Wednesday June 17th 2015 I did a stress test and decided and the attending decided that I will be delivering over the weekend, 'totally uncalled for'.

I had zero clothing with me, not prepared emotionally or physically for what's to happen and CK dad was not in Miami at the time. My first OB Doctor scheduled induced labour for June 29th so Derick (CK Dad) had his ticket scheduled for June 27th. Having one family member and two family friends present was nothing like what I thought having my first child would be. Total mixed emotions of excitement to meet my little man but the anxiety as to why they changing things from what was planned in the beginning.
The doctors said she noticed increased amniotic fluid, and there is a change of me going into labor if I leave the hospital since the excess amniotic fluid may trigger contractions.
I was in the hospital from June 17th up until June 21st, did I deliver? NO.
I was pricked so many times for IV and blood, freezing in the hospital rooms and they kept postponing my delivery since the team was not available.
I was eager to go home and just rest, we all know sleeping in a hospital equals to restless nights. Imagine being in the labor and delivery section of the hospital hearing screaming all night and all day long.
Was I freaked out? Heck yes! I thought if that was gonna be what I was about to run into within the next couple hours.
The end result was that the doctors had a meeting and all agreed to stick the original date of June 29th since the entire team was informed of that specific date for Cecil Kobe delivery.
Dr Anthony Hogan also agreed that a couple more weeks inside me would give his lungs a little more strength for survival.

I went back to the apartment with Jackie Woodye, our family friend who was more than welcoming to Ms Irma Garbutt, myself and my little prince. As a young woman without any children she enjoyed the journey of seeing my tummy grow and the video of the kicks.

Almost at the end of the road before delivery we have a video of his powerful kicks, especially after I slurp 'Caramel Frapp' from McDonalds.
